Proverbs 27
Proverbs 27:9, 17.
“The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense. As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” (NLT).
“Just as lotions and fragrance give sensual delight, a sweet friendship refreshes the soul. You use steel to sharpen steel, and one friend sharpens another.” (Message).
“Sweet friendships refresh the soul and awaken our hearts with joy; for good friends are like the anointing oil that yields the fragrant incense of God’s presence. It takes a grinding wheel to sharpen a blade, and so one person sharpens the character of another.” (TPT).
“… the sweetness of a friend is better than one’s own counsel.” (Tanakh).
