Steve’s Morning Prayer

Steve’s Morning Prayer.

(Please read this slowly, meditatively, thoughtfully. Every phrase is rich and significant.)

Open my lips, O Lord, And my mouth shall proclaim your praise. (from Ps. 51).

Glory to God in the highest, and peace to his people on earth.

Lord God, Heavenly King, almighty God and Father, we worship you for your holiness, we thank you for your goodness, we praise you for your glory. (from the Gloria).

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might. Heaven and earth are full of your glory and your mercy. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is He, Jesus Christ, who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. (from the Sanctus)

Surely it is God who saves me; I will trust in him and not be afraid.

For the Lord is my stronghold and my sure defense, and he will be my Savior.

Therefore you shall draw water with rejoicing, from the springs of salvation.

And on that day you shall say, Give thanks to the Lord and call upon his Name.

Make his deeds known among the peoples; see that they remember that his Name is exalted.

Sing the praises of the Lord, for he has done great things, and this is known in all the world.

Cry aloud, inhabitants of Zion, ring out your joy, for the great one in the midst of you is the Holy One of Israel. (from Isaiah 12).

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me.

Grant me the joy of your saving help again, and sustain me with your bountiful Spirit. (from Ps. 51).

Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father, Lord God, Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world: continue your mercies upon us; you are seated at the right hand of the Father: receive our prayer. (from the Gloria)

(Intercessions – At this time lift up everyone on your heart, asking the Lord to continue his mercies upon him/her, and to sustain this person through His bountiful Spirit.)

For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. (from the Gloria).

(Close with a blessing for Loved Ones) – We ask you to bless and keep them, Lord, providing for and protecting them. Make your face to shine upon them in friendship, and be gracious to them. Turn your face toward them with favor and grant them your shalom, your peace that passes understanding. Amen. (Aaron’s priestly blessing, from Numbers 6:22-26)
