The Tomb is the Womb

Jesus, the first born from the dead. Fresh sprung. New born. The tomb is the womb. The grave has brought forth Resurrection. The Sanctuary is swept clean and unveiled and open. The stone slab of the tomb is guarded, mercy-seat style by two angels. Cloud and light and fragrance and glory mark this spot as the Place of Meeting of the Godhead, the Trinitarian Dance of Rebirth. The Father speaks, “Arise, my Son.” The Spirit fills and blesses. The Son obeys. Morning stars sing. Children of God shout for joy. “God has gone up with a shout.” Meeting. Life. Song. Shout. Dance. The party has begun and it makes stones roll away and guards fall down.

Jesus, the High Priest. Jesus, the Sacrifice. Jesus, the Mercy Seat. Steps forth in all His Glory. New Day. The day that the Lord God made, brought about, birthed into fullness.

He comes from the Holy Place of Holy Meeting. He comes from the Place of Sacrifice, trailing Glory, showing wounds, standing forth, speaking words of Blessing on His disciples and followers. Those scared and brokenhearted, bereaved and confused disciples, he comes to, speaking blessing, healing, light and power. He speaks like Aaron and every high priest after coming out of the Temple, coming from the Holiest Meeting Place, coming through and out to stand among the people and say, “The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you, the Lord lift up His countenance unto you and give you peace.”

Those words, spoken and re-spoken by high priests throughout the ages of Temple and Tabernacle, are now offered in these last days by The High Priest, countenance shining, as He comes from the Tomb, Womb, Sanctuary, Holy of Holies. Spoken triumphantly with praised,outward-blessing hands. Hands upon which are written, engraved in flesh, the love and heart of our God.

And now, daily, Jesus the Resurrected, who sits at the right hand of the Father, comes to us by the Spirit, all of us, everyone, and speaks blessing and favor and peace. Countless angels sing at His rebirth as they did at His birth, Glory to God in the highest, and peace to His people on earth!
