Proverbs 13:12.

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but desire fulfilled is a tree of life.”  (NASB).

Hope: expectation; “the spring from which the desire for life flows.” (Strong’s).

Heart: the seat of one’s inner nature; the feelings, will and intellect; an aspect of the immaterial self.

“Unrelenting disappointment leaves you heartsick, but a sudden good break can turn life around.” (Message).

“When hope’s dream seems to drag on and on, the delay can be depressing. But when at last your dreams come true, life’s sweetness will satisfy your soul.”  (TPT).

“Hope deferred sickens the heart, but desire realized is a tree of life.” (Tanakh).
